Horticulture exhibitions
Lucknow, the capital city of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, is known for its rich cultural heritage, delicious food, and beautiful gardens. The city has several parks and gardens, including the famous Lucknow Zoo and the Ambedkar Memorial Park.
From time to time, horticulture exhibitions and trade fairs are organized in Lucknow and other cities in Uttar Pradesh to showcase the latest trends in horticulture and gardening. These exhibitions provide a platform for horticulturists, gardeners, and enthusiasts to showcase their products, share their knowledge and network with others in the industry.
The Uttar Pradesh government is taking steps to boost small-scale and cottage industries in the state by organizing exhibitions across 18 divisions.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed senior government officers to conduct large-scale exhibitions for fruits, vegetables, and flowers at every divisional headquarters.
The aim is to promote interactions with successful entrepreneurs and learn about best practices being followed in other parts of the country.
The exhibitions will cover various areas, including scientific production, extending the shelf life of food products, marketing techniques, resources, and packaging of food products.
The first exhibition will be held in Prayagraj for two days, followed by Varanasi in February and March. The department for food processing and horticulture will act as the nodal agency, with a budget of Rs 3.42 crore allocated for the exhibitions. The schedule for the remaining divisions will be finalized soon.
